A note from Suicide Prevention Australia

The FivesForLives soccer tournament is a community event run by an incredible group of young men raising funds for Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA). Suicide Prevention Australia is the national peak body for the suicide prevention sector in Australia bringing together not for profit organisations, businesses, community and government, to work together, building a community that know how to ask for help and how to give help. Fundraising events like FivesForLives help to build this community.

In 2015, FivesForLives contributed more than $8,000 to support suicide prevention initiatives such as the national Lived Experience Network, a national network of people who have been impacted by suicide in some way and want their voices to be heard. SPA helps individuals in this network to share their story and experiences to reduce stigma and improve suicide prevention.

FivesForLives is a wonderful engagement activity for the local community and is back again this year. On behalf of Suicide Prevention Australia, thank you to the FivesForLives team for their dedication and passion for suicide prevention.
